The Auratones were formed in 1996 and Bada Bing is already the 6th studio album of this 7-piece band. The new album contains 9 funky soulful instrumentals. Bassist Boudewijn Lucas, alto saxophonist Rolf Delfos and guitarist Tjeerd van Zanen wrote the basic arrangements and later worked them out with the rest of the band. The combination of Boudewijn Lucas on bass with the funky drummer Lean Robbemont works very well. Add master percussionist Martin Verdonk to that and you have a rock-solid rhythm machine. All this with strongly arranged horn themes and ditto solos by Rolf Delfos, Peter Broekhuizen on baritone sax and Cees Trappenburg on trumpet. The Auratones zijn in 1996 ontstaan en inmiddels is Bada Bing alweer het 6e studio album van deze 7-koppige band. Het nieuwe album bevat 9 funky soulvolle instrumentale nummers. Bassist Boudewijn Lucas, altsaxofonist Rolf Delfos en gitarist Tjeerd van Zanen schreven de basisarrangementen en hebben deze later met de rest van de band uitgewerkt. De combinatie van Boudewijn Lucas op bas met de funky drummer Lean Robbemont werkt heel goed. Doe daar dan ook nog meesterpercussionist Martin Verdonk bij en je hebt een ijzersterke ritmemachine. Dat alles met sterk gearrangeerde blazersthema’s en dito solo's van Rolf Delfos, Peter Broekhuizen op bariton-sax en Cees Trappenburg op trompet. Ik denk dat deze band live helemaal los gaat en dat het publiek massaal op de dansvloer staat te swingen. Bada Bing staat ook op Spotify. (P.O.)
